FPL Captain Picker Naming Rules

Effective date: 7 May 2026  |  Operator: Prem Tipster FPL  |  Contact: premtipsterfpl@gmail.com  |  Version 1.0

1. Scope

These Naming Rules apply to any name, label or public identifier used on or submitted to the Website. This includes display names, usernames, profile names, team names, leaderboard names, comment names, share-card names, competition names, Last Man Standing names, public pick names and any future public or semi-public user identifier.

These Rules form part of the Terms of Use. If you do not follow them, we may ask you to change your name, edit it, hide it, remove it, restrict features, suspend your account or take other appropriate action.

2. General standard

Names should be suitable for a football/FPL website that may be viewed by a broad audience. Names can be funny, competitive, creative or personal, but they must not be abusive, illegal, misleading, unsafe or harmful.

3. Not allowed

You must not use names that include, promote, imply or encourage:

  • hate speech, discrimination or abuse based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any protected characteristic;
  • slurs, dehumanising language, extremist references or symbols;
  • harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or targeted abuse;
  • sexual content, pornographic references, sexualised language involving minors or explicit adult content;
  • graphic violence, self-harm encouragement, suicide encouragement, gore or serious harm;
  • criminal activity, fraud, scams, hacking, phishing, piracy or evasion of security systems;
  • doxxing, personal data, private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, passwords or account details;
  • spam, promotional links, affiliate links, suspicious URLs, crypto scams, gambling spam or unrelated advertising;
  • impersonation of FPL Captain Picker, Prem Tipster FPL, admins, moderators, football clubs, players, leagues, brands, sponsors or other users;
  • misleading official-sounding names, such as names suggesting you are staff, verified, admin, moderator, support, sponsor or official when you are not;
  • defamatory, malicious or clearly false claims about individuals, clubs, companies or other users;
  • copyright or trade mark misuse where it creates confusion or suggests official endorsement;
  • attempts to bypass filters with spacing, symbols, accents, misspellings, abbreviations, hidden characters, coded hate terms or lookalike characters.

4. Sensitive topics

Names referencing tragedy, death, illness, abuse, disasters, ongoing legal cases, terrorist incidents, war crimes or other sensitive events may be removed if they are likely to offend, distress, harass or exploit others, even if they are intended as jokes.

5. Football banter

Football jokes, rivalry and light-hearted banter are allowed, but they must not cross into hate, threats, harassment, protected-characteristic abuse, tragedy chanting, discriminatory stereotypes or targeted personal abuse.

6. Impersonation and official names

  • Do not pretend to be another user, footballer, content creator, official account, club, sponsor, admin, moderator or support account.
  • Do not use names that could make users think you represent FPL Captain Picker, Prem Tipster FPL, Fantasy Premier League, the Premier League, a club or a sponsor unless you have permission.
  • We may reserve names such as Admin, Moderator, Support, Official, Prem Tipster, FPL Captain Picker and similar variations.

7. Names and public visibility

If public features are enabled, your display name may appear on leaderboards, comments, pick cards, competitions, saved-pick summaries, share features, moderation logs or future community features. Choose a name you are comfortable being visible to others.

8. Personal information in names

Do not include sensitive personal information in a name. Avoid including your full legal name, home address, phone number, email address, date of birth, school, workplace, financial details or personal information about another person. We may remove or edit names that appear to expose personal information.

9. Duplicate, confusing or reserved names

We may restrict duplicate names, confusingly similar names, names that look like system accounts, names that interfere with leaderboard readability, or names needed for admin/moderation purposes. We may also add display suffixes, IDs or formatting where needed to avoid confusion.

10. Spam and commercial names

Names must not be used primarily for advertising, SEO, spam, affiliate links, suspicious promotions, gambling promotion, adult content promotion, crypto promotion or unrelated commercial promotion. Sponsor, partner or affiliate features must be approved by us.

11. Automated filtering and moderation

  • We may use automated filters, manual moderation or user reports to review names.
  • Filters may miss bad names or incorrectly flag acceptable names.
  • We may change filters and rules over time.
  • We may review names before or after they appear publicly.
  • We may place accounts or names into a hidden moderation queue, especially for comments, public display names or competitions.

12. What happens if a name breaks the rules

Depending on the situation, we may:

  • ask you to choose a new name;
  • temporarily hide the name;
  • edit or replace the name with a neutral placeholder;
  • block the name from being reused;
  • remove comments, leaderboard entries or public content connected to the name;
  • restrict comments, leaderboards, competitions, premium features or account access;
  • suspend or close the account;
  • report serious illegal content or threats where appropriate.

13. Appeals and mistakes

If you believe a name was wrongly blocked, edited or removed, you can contact premtipsterfpl@gmail.com. We may review the decision, but we are not required to allow a name just because it was intended as a joke or used elsewhere online.

14. Future features

These Naming Rules also apply to future features, including premium communities, comments, team profiles, public captain picks, private leagues, Last Man Standing games, prizes, badges, share cards, polls, prediction games, forums, social features or any other public naming system added later.
